Seeking females to work my hot dog cart (Las Vegas)

found on CraigslistAnd I did not put that up there.  Looks like a legit ad?

Are you on track – am I ?

I just noticed a few fortune cookie messages near my desk at home:

The current year will bring you much happiness.
You will have many bright days soon
You will be a winner

Now I'm way to pragmatic to think you can alter ones life by writing a canned sentence, put into a cookie and change ones life.  But [...]

going to 64 – part II (final)

As predicted, Gentoo screams on the x86_64 chips (built from stage I).  The issues are getting Oracle's DB and jdeveloper (and the required jdk's 1.4.2_04) installed.
Since it's a development machine, and I develop for a living, it's back to Centos.
Eclipse wanted to install 3.1 version for the x86_64 platform, but there are issues with GTK, [...]

going to 64 – part I

I have been pondering the move from the 32 bit x86 to the 64 bit version for about a year.
I have not liked the price point – but I finally caved and picked up a 64 bit version via AMD's product line.  Out the door at Fry's (I hate that place) for just under [...]

…wait for it…

week 2 of the NFL, week 3 of CFB – the only plays are the home dogs in the NFL – everything else you have to wait for – teams are still shaking out.  It takes a few hits to become a football season.
History says to take the home dogs on the moneyline for week [...]

-EV for fun

I'm with my buddy at The Orleans playing some ring games (+EV event).  Then we bailed for a change of pace and come craps (precision shooting, +EV event for us).  After a quick double at the craps table with a $200 buy in – shooting points of 6 and 8 – placing the opposite number, [...]

Back from Vegas

T8o calls an all in with a board of AATA – what could the other guy have?  Pocket 2's call an all in bet with a flop of AKJ rainbow? 82os calls an 5x bet preflop in horrible position. In a tourney , a player with 225 in chips tosses his cards into the muck [...]

Geek rule n+1

Whatever rule you wrote last, append this one to your list (assuming you know what a kernel is – else just close the browser, cause there is no help for you – just go back to clicking the pretty icons and getting rid of spyware):
Don't recompile your kernel 6 hours before heading to Las Vegas.Nothing [...]

…and the season begins

A nice non-work day, some pizza, a few Guinness and that sweet voice of Keith Jackson.  Either I am dreaming, or it's the start of College Football.  I promise I will not be on the couch until January…just give me this day.  I need it.  CFB, NFL, MLB, NHL, ya gotta love the next few [...]
